Bangalore

We are in Bangalore, staying with Dinesh, another old friend from graduate school. He really hasn't changed much in the last 18 years. Both he and his house mate are wearing ponytails and Dinesh has a beard, so Kathy and I feel right at home. He is running his software development business out of his home, so there are plenty of computers around, with a few employees coming and going.

We spent most of yesterday planning our trip for the next couple of weeks. Today we will go with Dinesh to visit his sister, outside of town. There will be a celebration as part of the Hindu festival of Dussehra.

Tomorrow we leave for MySore, where there will be still another celebration of the festival. Then on to game parks and the coast. Our only unconfirmed reservation is at the game park. If we don't hear back, we will have to move on to plan B. Otherwise, we now have bookings every night through October 20. I think Kathy and I are both happy that we now have a plan.

On the 20th we will arrive in Mumbai, which is near Pune where I will visit another school.
